BioCharlie Davis

Bloodline / Heritage: Irish / pureblood
Personal History: Born into an old pureblood family, Charlie was raised in a secluded portion of Ireland in an old castle. Growing up was in experience in the Davis household. From her strict mother; to her idealistic, if not slightly eccentric, father; and finally her boisterous older brother, Deryck; life was always interesting. Most summers consisted of Deryck exploring in the forest, bringing back a (dangerous) creature, and begging Mum to keep it. Naturally, she would insist that he get rid of it or she would call the Ministry and Da would try and take care of the poor wee beastie. When Deryck graduated he gravitated towards dragons and ended up assisting the Order in that field. Occasionally, to Charlie’s joy, he would bring back an injured dragon to the castle. The two would spend the summers healing the beast and playing quidditch in their free time. In Charlie’s fourth year of Hogwarts, Deryck was killed on a mission. The loss of her older brother and dearest companion devastated Charlie and the rest of her family. Her father got sucked himself into work, and her mother grew more paranoid. Charlie was barely allowed out of the house in the summer. Coming to Hogwarts was the best thing about the year for Charlie; home didn’t really provide much comfort.
Personality: Short tempered and impulsive, Charlie has a bad habit of saying too much- or doing too much- and then feeling horribly guilty afterwards. Her heart is in the right place, but she lacks control. Horribly rash, Char always manages to get into trouble with her friends, parents, teachers, and others. She dislikes authority on any level and is quick to inform most leaders of that. She is a bit of a control freak and prefers to take the lead rather than follow. Although she can be a jerk, Charlie places her friends over almost anything and would do anything to protect them. Charlie’s biggest difficulty is her issue facing problems. She runs from her own mistakes and refuses to own up to them. She always loved speed, and felt like she could escape anything when she was running/kayaking/and QUIDDITCH. When she realized she couldn’t run anymore, and couldn’t fix the past, something in her snapped and she became harsher and sunk farther into denial. Though she is a bit of an emotional wackjob, Charlie tries to remain optimistic and, in most settings, remains humorous.
Physical Description: Charlie, as Charlotte prefers to go by, is nearly 5’7” pale, freckly, and very Irish. Her short, shaggy red hair perpetually falls into her vivid green eyes. She has a wiry athletic build, which belies her enormous appetite. Her body is adorned with burn marks and scars from various accidents usually involving brooms, dragons, or spells gone horridly awry. Charlie usually wears a loose fitting wife-beater or tee-shirt and pair of cargo pants or athletic shorts.
Hobbies and talents: Quidditch has been a life long talent and hobby for Charlie. Her parents signed both her and her older brother up for lessons before they even went to Hogwarts. She’s a very capable keeper and practices constantly. Besides quidditch, Charlie’s just very athletic in general. She’s strong, has incredible endurance, and very good hand-eye coordination. She’s very good with animals and either wants to work with them or become an Auror when she graduates Hogwarts. (As a final hobby: eating. She can eat anytime, anywhere, and almost anything. The amount of food she can cram in her wiry body is kind of sick, but she doesn’t mind.)
Weaknesses: Unfortunately, Charlie fails to concentrate or try in anything that doesn’t hold her interest. She looses focus very easily and finds sitting still for long periods of time as painful as having her teeth pulled out. Being impatient has gotten Charlie into trouble many times, but neither authority nor punishment seems to have any effect on her. This coupled with her rash behavior tends to get her into trouble. Finally, Charlie has a flaming temper. She can’t stop her mouth, fist, or anything else—which, can cause some problems.
Best subjects: Defense against the dark arts has always come easily to Charlie. It’s in her nature to protect and to fight, so battling ‘the forces of evil’ is both exciting, enjoyable, and natural for Charlie. Quidditch has also been a very strong point in her life—not to mention she learned how to play even before Hogwarts! Her marks in Transfiguration have also been above average—Charlie tends to work harder in a subject that interests her.
Worst subjects: Potions and History of Magic would be, without doubt, her worst subjects. Charlie has a focus problem and can’t seem to pay attention to detail. Her Herbology and Astronomy work is also less than satisfactory, but nowhere near as poor as the former two.
Broom: Charlie’s family is relatively wealthy, and seeing that Charlie has been obsessed with quidditch since she was tiny, it would stand to reason that she has a Nimbus 2000 (the broom used to belong to Deryck).
Wand: 11”, oak with a dragon heartstring core (not very bendy, but can still move)
